The full story

Lewis Leathers has made bike clothing since the early 1900s. The brand did not need a new past. It needed better shop tech for the next part of its story.

The task

Lewis Leathers is a historic British bike clothing brand. Riders, music stars and well-known names have worn its clothes for many years.

The site had to carry that story and support a growing online shop. The old platform was hard to change. Years of code edits and old tech made each update a risk.

The business needed a shop base it could keep using and changing.

Old brand, new needs

People want a historic brand to feel true to itself. They also want a fast site, a clear phone view, easy orders and a good story.

The tech had to support the craft, not pull focus from it. That rule shaped the work.

What we built

We rebuilt the platform around the work of the team and the needs of its buyers.

  • A rebuilt Magento shop
  • Easier page paths
  • A better phone view
  • Clear site code for search
  • Tools for custom orders
  • Faster page loads
  • A stronger tech base
  • Ongoing help for the platform

Each change aimed to make the shop simpler to run and use.

One joined shop

The platform joins product search, custom orders, checkout, order care and the pages a buyer sees.

Keep the brand

The site still had to feel like Lewis Leathers. We did not put the brand into a plain shop theme. We kept its type, colours, photos and way of telling a story.

Main point

Move the shop on. Do not remake the brand.

The new shop tech still looks and feels like Lewis Leathers.

Product pages

Large photos, clear product facts, brand stories and simple menus shape each product page.

Each page helps a person buy and learn how the item is made.

Large product photos and full stories work across each screen size.

Phone use

The rebuilt shop made phone and tablet use clearer. People could view ranges, read brand stories and place an order while the site kept its high-end feel.

Work under the page

A steady base

The rebuilt base cut the risk in later updates. The team could keep adding to the platform.

Speed

We improved page loads, saved common files for reuse and made taps feel more quick. Rich product and history pages no longer had to feel heavy.

Search set-up

We made product, range and history pages easier for search tools to scan, read and store.

The buy path

Clear menus, product pages and buy steps gave people a shorter path from first look to order.

The result

PoleBrand rebuilt the shop, improved speed and made the buy path and search set-up clear. The new base can take more work while the Lewis Leathers story stays at its heart.

The platform supports sales in more than one country while it keeps the brand people know.

The key point

A historic brand does not need to look new. Its shop tech needs to be strong enough for the brand to stay itself.
